Earl Wilson/The New York Times
A friend shared this feature with me from The New York Times a few weeks ago and I just loved it. Can you believe this guy? Maybe I will have to pay him a visit when I get to New York.
(for those not so computer savvy family members of mine, you can click on the colored words in this post to get to the articles I am talking about)
I haven't always been much of a newspaper reader but I think writing for The Daily Universe last semester has helped me come to appreciate this kind of work. Actually I found that all of the energy I put into dreading and worrying about taking that news writing class was all for nothing because it wasn't that bad at all. In fact, I really enjoyed it and discovered along the way that this was something that I really loved to do.
I got to do some pretty fun articles with The Daily Universe.
- My specific assignment was Student Alumni Association and Center for Service and Learning.
- This article was one of the most exciting I worked on because it was my first that made the front page! You can't tell from this link but if you check out the pdf version, there it is...front and center.
- Here's another I wrote about this local artist. I got to put together the slide show too which was fun.
